During November 2017 - March 2019, I contributed at SimBin Studios UK as a Environment Artist for the upcoming racing title. GTR3 is the latest instalment in the critically acclaimed GTR FIA Racing series, coming to PC and consoles. My primary focus was environment creation, however I have also been involved in other tasks such as prop creation and scene dressing based on real life locations.

 

Role: Environment Artist

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Modelling and texturing 3D environments to suit real life form

  • Converting materials to PBR workflow

  • Creating shaders using node based system

  • Developing workflows, including writing documentation for other artists use

  • Up-scaling 3D assets to higher quality (both model and textures)

  • Optimising environment and props to run at 60fps
